SUMMARY:1877 Hill & Son Grand Organ Tours 'A Sound Taste'
DESCRIPTION:Built originally for the Adelaide Town Hall in 1875\, it is the oldest concert organ on the Australian mainland. The Organ Historical Trust acquired the instrument in 1994 and with the cooperation of local organisations the Tanunda Soldiers’ Memorial Hall became its permanent home in 1997.\nSince then\, the Hill and Son Grand Organ has been fully restored both internally and externally. \nWeekly Tours – A sound taste…..\nHear the 1877 Grand Organ being played\nView the inner workings\nLearn how a community of devoted volunteers restored this jewel of an instrument.\nWhen: Every Wednesday @ 11.30am-12:30pm\nCost: $5 donation to the on-going maintenance of the Organ\nA unique experience! \nPlease note – entry is via the Tanunda Soldiers’ Memorial Hall on the car park side of the venue.
