DESCRIPTION:The Barossa Regional Gallery together with the Barossa Visitor Centre is proud to present the Barossa Makers and Beyond Market.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe market will be a carefully curated gathering of artists and artisans\, including potters\, woodworkers\, textile artists\, candle makers\, contemporary jewelers\, card creators and much more\, showcasing a treasure trove of fabulous local and South Australian made items in a festive setting. \nHeld on the 5th of April 2024\, the market will be hosted across two sites in the main street of Tanunda; the gardens on corner of Murray Street and Elizabeth Street\, and the Tanunda Town Square\, encouraging visitors to wander between the two\, exploring the main street along the way and each of the venues unique activities and live music. \nTanunda Fountain 3pm to 7pm – South Australian Makers \nTanunda Town Square 4pm to 8pm – Barossa Makers \nOffering a unique shopping experience featuring live music\, food and drink vendors amongst the quality artisan stalls\, artist’s workshops\, maker’s tables and children’s activity areas\, the markets are sure to be a popular element of the Barossa Arts Festival. The Sunshine Club tour is assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia\, its arts funding and advisory body. \nHeralded as a “brilliant new landmark in Australian musicals” (The Australian)\, The Sunshine Club is written and directed by proud Noonuccal Nuugi man Wesley Enoch AM\, an acclaimed creative force in Australian Theatre. This energetic and engaging musical play has a variety of music styles\, with 28 songs composed by the esteemed John Rodgers. \nIt tells the story of Frank Doyle\, an Aboriginal serviceman who has come home from World War II to find that although the wider world may have changed\, attitudes back home in Brisbane are just the same. Filled with a defiant energy and ambition for a better life\, Frank starts The Sunshine Club\, a place where black and white can meet and\, most importantly\, dance.
