At Barossa Loop de Loop, we have carefully designed a dedicated sensory room at Barossa Regional Gallery to create a calming and interactive space.

What is our sensory room?

Our sensory room is a designated space designed to provide a calm and engaging atmosphere, serving as a safe haven for individuals with sensory processing differences. This inclusive environment is open to people of all ages, aiming to enhance the overall enjoyment and comfort of visitors. It is particularly beneficial for those with sensory sensitivities, individuals experiencing anxiety, or anyone seeking a peaceful retreat during an event. The sensory room incorporates key features to cater to diverse needs and preferences.

Key features of the sensory room include:

🌿 Calming Atmosphere

The sensory room has a peaceful ambience, featuring soft lighting/sensory lamp, comfortable seating, and gentle sounds that promote relaxation.

🌿 Interactive Elements

Explore a range of interactive sensory equipment, including tactile activities, mindful mandalas, and discovery tubs.

The Barossa Library team will be offering structured reading times at 10.00am, 11.00am, 1.00pm and 2.00pm.

🌿 Comfort and Privacy

We understand the importance of privacy, with the room being equipped with tee pees for those who prefer a more secluded experience.

We warmly welcome all visitors to experience the sensory room. It’s designed to be accessible and inviting to all with children (with parent supervision), parents, carers and adults.

Safety first! Please remember to read important information before the event.
