In celebration of National NAIDOC Week 2024, the Barossa Council together with Reconciliation Barossa is pleased to invite you to a special screening of the powerful documentary, ‘The Last Daughter’ hosted by the Barossa Regional Gallery.

National NAIDOC Week celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

This moving film shares the journey of Brenda, an Aboriginal woman who grew up within two very different families and cultures, and her quest to discover where she truly belongs.

After the screening, we will facilitate a discussion about the film’s themes and our shared histories. It’s an opportunity for us to collectively reflect, learn, and grow.

We believe that sharing Brenda’s story is a powerful way to foster understanding and empathy within our community, and we hope you can join us for this special event.

RSVP is essential. All Welcome.

Please feel free to share this invitation with others who may be interested. The more people we can bring together for this important conversation, the better.
