Held on the 5th of April 2024, the market will be hosted across two sites in the main street of Tanunda; the gardens on corner of Murray Street and Elizabeth Street, and the Tanunda Town Square, encouraging visitors to wander between the two, exploring the main street along the way and each of the venues unique activities and live music.
It tells the story of Frank Doyle, an Aboriginal serviceman who has come home from World War II to find that although the wider world may have changed, attitudes back home in Brisbane are just the same. Filled with a defiant energy and ambition for a better life, Frank starts The Sunshine Club, a place where black and white can meet and, most importantly, dance. Here he dreams of a future where he can dance in step with Rose, the girl next door, the girl of his dreams.
The Australian String Quartet featuring music by Haydn, Mark Simeon Ferguson and more.... present a rollicking concert of string quartet classics, jazz standards and originals in the heart of the beautiful Barossa Valley.
The Barossa Council acknowledges the Ngadjuri, Peramangk and Kaurna people and their ancestral connection to land and pays respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
